What Is Rules of Web Site Design?

When it comes to website design, extra attention should be paid to every minute detail to make sure it performs optimally to serve the purpose of its existence. It is a mistake committed by many new webmaster and even by some professional webmaster to include too many elements that need a long time to load just to be bale to view them.

Web Site Design

The following are good website design pointers you should consider whenever you create a site.

1) Splash pages is not a good solution

The splash pages are the fancy pages you see when you enter a website. These are elaborately fancy pages with lavish designs and images along with words such as “welcome to our website” Usually, they are pages of elaborate graphics that includes words such as “welcome” or “click here to enter the site”. These pages act as a good to lure visitors attention away from the real mission of your website. This fanciful addition only serves to confuse the visitor who will likely leave your website immediately if loading time takes too long.

2) Banners must be kept minimal

These are usually large adverts placed at the top of the web page but can also be at the bottom too. Banner ad tends to be ignored by most web surfers so it is a total majority of the web surfers so they would a total waste of your website space. There is a better way to add contents instead of using banner is by giving them useful information and then add their affiliate links so that they would seem natural.

3) All navigational systems should be easy

You have to provide a simple and very straightforward navigation menu so that even a young child will know how to use it. Do not use any form of menus that will complicate users, drop downs and multi-tiers are not a good idea. Any form of complicated navigation will cause them to leave your site for good. Have a sitemap added to the website design to help them find what they are looking for.

4) Don’t let your visitors feel as if they are lost

When visitors are deeply engrossed in browsing your site, you will want to make sure they know which part of the site they are in at that moment. This way, they can easily navigate the exact section they want. When each link that has been visited is marked in some way form the ones that are fresh, visitors can easily know which is fresh and which is fresh and which is not. Never confuse your visitors because you will lose them very quickly as they become frustrated.

5) If possible, do not use any form of audio files

If you wish for your visitors to stay long enough to read the contents, do not loop your music file in a way that irritates. Whenever you decide to use sound, be sure not to let it loop continuously because this a huge cause of irritation to people browsing sites. If adding audios seems like a good idea to you, do make sure you provide some form of control such as muting or volume control so that your visitors can adapt to their surroundings. By using this information on website design you will find visitors to your site stay much longer and will return in the future.
